Joe’s Special Box – Volume 19

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

Joe’s office features lovely custom curved cabinetry that has become a haven for many antique treasures.  These pieces still reside in their original leather fitted cases…  while they are too large to tuck into Joe’s Special Box, each one certainly qualifies.

Soft pastel shades of pink, yellow, and blue combine to create a feast for the eyes in this antique necklace.  Finishing at 15 inches, this beauty grazes the collar bone, adding a hint of color and warmth to any ensemble.  The gemstones are a unique collaboration of chrysoberyl, pink tourmaline, and blue sapphire.  I can picture wearing it casually with jeans or adding it to your favorite summer dress for a bit of sparkle.  Priced at $7200 – this is sure to be an heirloom in your family for many generations yet to come.

Precious Medal

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and Platinum Rings

A medal is a small artistic object – a thin disc (usually made of metal) carrying a design – commemorating a significant event or achievement.  What better example of this is there than a wedding band?  Not only does this prized possession qualify as a medal, but it’s also a promise that two are becoming one; not just any two – you two!  Your story is unique.  Your ring should be, too.

From vintage to modern, this striking trio shares a common element that takes them to the next level…  they are all made from platinum, arguably the king of metals.  Platinum is beautiful, refined, and versatile with an inner strength – much like a woman.  The benefits of this precious metal far exceed aesthetics…  it’s a naturally occurring white element that requires little maintenance.  It’s 95% pure, making it hypoallergenic.  Platinum is extremely dense (60% heavier than gold), very durable, and quite rare.  Its use enhances the allure of these bands…

This piece is modern with an Edwardian inspired design.  The four-petaled blossoms encircle the entire ring, while only the top portion is diamond accented.  There are twenty-four fully faceted diamonds set into the vine with a combined total weight of .25 carats.  Priced at $2,500 – this beauty is certain to become an heirloom of tomorrow.

Four Old European Cut diamonds create sparkling centers for the intricately carved flowers in this vintage band.  The stems, leaves, and florets wrap artfully around the finger, with no beginning and no end.  Make this eternal enchantress yours for just $1700.

This final band has a hidden secret…  the original engraving is still inside!  Check out the close-up photo.  Dated 1936, this Art Deco piece offers quiet elegance.  There are twenty single-cut diamonds carefully set in two parallel lines across the top center of the ring.  These diamonds have a combined weight of .35 carats and are further accented by a delicate beaded edge.  It’s priced right at just $1400.

Like platinum, the beauty of these bands will never fade or tarnish – it’s everlasting.  And like your commitment, it only grows stronger with each scratch, creating a rich patina that will shine forevermore.

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 2

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

Simply stunning.  Truly.  This ring, hand-fabricated in the 1870’s, is a classic example of a Mid Victorian engagement ring.  It features all the ear-marks of the Grand Period…

  • Silver was discovered in Virginia City, Nevada in 1860.  It was very popular during the mid-1800’s and was often combined with low karat gold.  Here, the darkened silver overlays a 14 karat gold base.
  • Two of the most utilized diamond cuts were Old Mine Cuts and Rose Cuts – this beauty has both.  Three Old Mine Cut diamonds (.50 carat total) create the center.  They are surrounded by a scalloped halo of twenty-four rose cut diamonds (.25 carat total).  These bright white sparklers twinkle with every turn of your hand.
  • The Old Mine Cut diamonds are held in place with “claw” prongs – a new style for the period.

My favorite detail of this ring has taken nearly 150 years to develop.  Just look at the gorgeous patina on the band of the ring!  The oxidation of this piece brings it to life, showcasing each design element – from the split shoulder to thehand-carved lines.  It’s absolute Victorian perfection.

Priced at just $2000, this ring is a steal – a true antique in pristine condition.  Take our heirloom and make it yours.
