This or That – Volume Two

 Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Beaded Things

With an inventory like ours, where the cases are filled to overflowing – there are always choices.  If you’re looking for a sapphire ring, we won’t have just one, more likely we will have one hundred.  Joe often boasts that the most unique aspect of Joden is that we truly have something for everyone and every budget.  If you visit our showroom we guarantee you’ll fall in love.

It was no surprise to me that within our treasure chest of gems and jewels we have more a handful of Etruscan revival bracelets – my two favorites are available at joden.com.  They shared marked similarities and yet each has its own individual personality.

First, we have this beauty.  Measuring approximately 3/8 of an inch wide, this 15 karat gold bangle is made to wear.

The top half features classic Etruscan granulation decor – fifteen quatrefoil shapes arch artfully across the wrist.  Two parallel milgrain borders complete the look.  It’s hinged, offering a securely snapping clasp as well as a safety chain.  The pattern is ornate and yet simple enough to wear every day.  It could easily become your signature piece, priced at $1,580.00.

And then we have this charmer.  It’s 7/8 of an inch of golden deliciousness.  A tiny ornate border highlights the outer edges and a singular delicate flower blooms on the exterior perimeter.

Much like the other bangle, this bracelet blend seamlessly into any wardrobe.  It pairs perfectly with everything from jeans to dresses, a go-to adornment for every occasion!  Priced at $3,150.00, it’s a signature piece that you will enjoy for a lifetime.

And so I ask you, which would you choose?  This narrow quatrefoil embellished bangle or that wide golden beauty with floral decor?  This or that?

Four Leaves

 Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Auspicious Things

If ever there were a time when we could use a little luck, this is it.  One in five thousand…  that’s the probability of finding a four-leaf clover.  It seems silly to spend hours searching for one of these fortuitous fronds when this stunning alternative is at the tips of your fingers.

The center section of this delightful ring is designed in a beloved pattern – the quatrefoil.  Gaining mass popularity in recent years, it has been popping up in everything from tattoos to home decor.  The thing that you may not have known is that this equally proportioned configuration has had timeless appeal – it can be traced back thousands of years.  The counterpart to the trefoil, the quatrefoil is represented by four symmetrical circles with their edges slightly overlapping.  These circles are placed in the compass rose positions of North, South, East, and West.  Believed to be deeply rooted in the Christian faith, one interpretation is that it represents the four gospels of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  Another simpler translation is much more literal…  quatrefoil means “four leaves”.  And as you know, four leaves are quite lucky!

Nothing beats the gleam of 18 karat gold, except perhaps antique 18 karat gold.  A hint of copper brings a rosy blush to the already rich color of this Victorian vision.  Crafted around 1875, this ring packs a subtle punch – quiet beauty with a bit of symbolic appeal.  There are fifteen Old European Cut diamonds nestled into the emblematic design…  they have a combined total of 1.50 carats.  These open-culet, cushion shaped gems glitter and shine with every turn of the hand.  The low-profile style makes this ring ideal for every day wear.  Boast this beauty on either hand, any finger will do.  Bring a little luck into your life for just $2,700.

We are open and excited to see you again!

The Things Golden Dreams Are Made Of

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Golden Things

Choosing a piece of jewelry is like buying a new dress or a great pair of shoes.  It’s a process – first we shop with our eyes.  Customers come in to Joden, milling around, casting their eyes up and down, scanning the cases.  I love watching their faces light up when they find something that speaks to them.  It’s an exciting moment.  Our job is to match each client with the perfect piece, the one that lights them up like a candle.

Coincidentally, the same thing happens to those of us who work in the store…  we dig through new inventory like scavengers searching for buried treasure.  That’s exactly how I discovered this golden beauty.  Joe and Jay had been on a buying trip and returned with a box overflowing with baubles and bling.  As I sifted through, this little ring caught my eye.

There’s nothing like the look and feel of high karat gold.  This ring is made entirely of 22 karat yellow gold – it glides over the knuckle like silk.  The top portion is comprised of a trio of quatrefoil shapes.  Each one is set with thirty-one round brilliant diamonds.  These stones are natural fancy yellow in color with a combined total weight of .50 carat.  The monochromatic effect is simple and stunning at the same time.  This is a ring that will become a part of you, it’s a signature piece.  You will find yourself wanting to wear it every day.

Originally priced at $2,160.00.

Mention this blog and it can be yours for the special price of $1,650.00.
