Lovely Luck

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Lucky Things

After more than fifty years of broken promises, it has finally happened.  The brooch is back in a big way.  Sure to be at the top of everyone’s Christmas list, we’re way ahead of the curve.  Our collection boasts 19th century hard stone cameos and fine champlevé enamels from the Art Nouveau era.  There’s a cheeky beaver from the Mid-Century period and a Tiffany & Co. sea urchin with ruby and diamond trim.  We have hundreds of choices in every style and price point.  Showcase your personality with a vintage brooch, like this one.

Whimsically charming, this four-leaf clover was made in the 1950’s.  Fourteen karat gold shines in shades of both yellow and white.  The four individual leaves are represented by heart-shaped amethyst gemstones.  Well-matched, this quartet offers hues of heliotrope and orchid.  Nestled into the center of the four hearts is a singular round diamond that weighs approximately .10 carat.  An additional five diamonds add a hint of sparkle to the gentle curve of the stem.

The three-leaf clover is the symbol of Ireland… the leaves representing faith, hope, and love.  When the fourth leaf is present (a rare occurrence, for sure), it is the ultimate symbol for luck.  Simple and sweet, this Mid-Century charmer is priced at just $1,900.00.  Pinned to the lapel of a tuxedo, the upturned cuff of a denim jacket, or the feathered band of your cowboy hat – this clover is suitable for a man or a woman.  Get a jump on your holiday shopping with this brooch from Joden Jewelers – it’s perfect for anyone and everyone on your list.

Four Leaves

 Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Auspicious Things

If ever there were a time when we could use a little luck, this is it.  One in five thousand…  that’s the probability of finding a four-leaf clover.  It seems silly to spend hours searching for one of these fortuitous fronds when this stunning alternative is at the tips of your fingers.

The center section of this delightful ring is designed in a beloved pattern – the quatrefoil.  Gaining mass popularity in recent years, it has been popping up in everything from tattoos to home decor.  The thing that you may not have known is that this equally proportioned configuration has had timeless appeal – it can be traced back thousands of years.  The counterpart to the trefoil, the quatrefoil is represented by four symmetrical circles with their edges slightly overlapping.  These circles are placed in the compass rose positions of North, South, East, and West.  Believed to be deeply rooted in the Christian faith, one interpretation is that it represents the four gospels of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  Another simpler translation is much more literal…  quatrefoil means “four leaves”.  And as you know, four leaves are quite lucky!

Nothing beats the gleam of 18 karat gold, except perhaps antique 18 karat gold.  A hint of copper brings a rosy blush to the already rich color of this Victorian vision.  Crafted around 1875, this ring packs a subtle punch – quiet beauty with a bit of symbolic appeal.  There are fifteen Old European Cut diamonds nestled into the emblematic design…  they have a combined total of 1.50 carats.  These open-culet, cushion shaped gems glitter and shine with every turn of the hand.  The low-profile style makes this ring ideal for every day wear.  Boast this beauty on either hand, any finger will do.  Bring a little luck into your life for just $2,700.

We are open and excited to see you again!

Do You Prefer Three Leaves or Four?

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and Symbolic Things

Faith, hope, and love…  this is what the three leaves of a shamrock signify.  It’s the symbol of Ireland and has been for centuries.  It is not to be confused with a four-leaf clover, an uncommon variation of the three-leaf clover.  One in every 10,000 clovers will have the fourth leaf… the lucky charm.

This rosy 14 karat gold bangle is made in a classic bypass style, comprised of three bands on the top.  The center one has been hand turned to create a beautiful twisted effect.  The crowning glory of this otherwise simple piece is the shamrock.  This iconic shape, made from three heart-shaped leaves, is seated at a jaunty angle on top of the bangle.  Four rose cut diamonds have been fitted to the clover, adding the perfect amount of sparkle.  Priced at $1,700 – this bracelet is perfect for daily wear and would easily become a favorite in anyone’s wardrobe.

Pair it with one of these rings from Joe’s Special Box for an even more dazzling effect.  Remember these beauties from a few weeks ago?  Any of the three would be an ideal complement to the shamrock bangle.  With shared elements like vintage cut diamonds, and rosy gold – the common ground makes for a stellar style statement.  These pieces are available at Joden, where our motto continues to hold true…
