Joe’s Special Box Luxury Edition – Volume 7

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and  A Collector’s Things

In 1896, Alfred Van Cleef joined forces with his father-in-law, Salomon Arpels and created one of the most iconic brands of all time.  In the 125 year history of the company, the Van Cleef & Arpels name has become synonymous with luxury jewelry, watches and perfume.  Business has never been better for the French firm.  With new modern pieces available in their signature upscale boutiques or online from their lavish site – these sumptuous statement pieces never go out of style.  In fact, vintage Van Cleef is often even more desirable than the au courant pieces.

E-commerce giants like 1stDibs are dominating the online shopping industry, and have become a valuable resource for both retailers and collectors.  These sites often feature high-end brands, including Van Cleef & Arpels.  While Joden.com does not yet have as large an audience as 1stDibs, we are proud to offer a selection that is every bit as good and in many cases… even better.

Many of our rarest pieces can be found in Joe’s Special Box.  This ring is no exception.  Made entirely of 18 karat yellow gold, this beauty positively screams opulence.  Seventy-nine round brilliant diamonds are pavé set into the unique bypass style.  These stones have a combined weight of approximately 2.00 carats.  Like all Van Cleef designs, the quality of each stone is above par…  these colorless brilliants have an average clarity grade of VS1.  One end of the ring fans out with a series of nine tiny leaves.  A large pearl bud blooms from within…  measuring 12.3 mm, this ocean gem exhibits a shimmery iridescent glow.

The Van Cleef signature is crisp and clear inside the shank, forever marking this ring as a small bit of indulgent extravagance.  It rises nearly an inch off the finger and yet is not overstated or excessive.  This ring is pure elegance.  It speaks of refinement and sophisticated pleasure.  Fit for a queen, this ring is available now for $7,250.00.

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 120

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

Just a few weeks ago, I shared a rare French bracelet from Joe’s Special Box.  Featuring special details like fine coiled wire and dainty platinum segments set with small rose cut diamonds, I hardly expected to find a companion to it quite so soon.

French jewelry is known for high style and superior craftsmanship.  For this reason, dealers and independent jewelers alike seek it out and often pay premium prices for these outstanding jewels.  After all, there’s no substitute for fine quality.

This week, in the bottom of a drawer positively overflowing with gold link bracelets – I found this little sweetheart.  The first thing to catch my eye were those twisted gold wire links.  With a double looped design, the pattern repeats ten times over.  These curvy golden beauties are connected with tiny bypass style links.  The overall appeal rests not only in what’s there, but also in what isn’t there…  those large openings that allow a peep of skin to show through are everything!

Close inspection revealed the cool platinum segments waving across the center of each swirl.  Seven rose cut diamonds that graduate in size are bead-set in every one.  This was the exact detail that reminded me of the bracelet from Joe’s Special Box.

While not identical – there’s no denying the similarity.  With such a strong resemblance, it led me to wonder if this new find was also French?  Sure enough, further investigation revealed the telltale sign, an eagle hallmark on the clasp.  Our inventory boasts not one but two antique French bracelets with diamond trim.

With such similar styles, it comes as no surprise that these two beauties are both priced at $3,250.00.  Both pieces are available now from the Joe’s Special Box collection.  Call for additional details.

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 116

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

All I can say is “Oui, Oui!”  This bracelet from Joe’s Special Box is practically perfect in every way.  Measuring 7.25 inches from end to end, this beauty consists of nine identical links, one featuring a hidden clasp.

Each link is made from 18 karat yellow gold.  The outer oval-shaped ring has a high-polish shine while the interior is decorated by a delicate milgrain wire that loops around the center segment.  The very innermost section is a handmade marquise-shape that is set with one tiny rose cut diamond.  The overall look is exquisite.

Hand-stamped onto the tongue portion of the invisible clasp are two distinct markings…  An eagle and a dog.  These are the French hallmarks for 18 karat and platinum.  These symbols verify that this dainty darling is in fact, French…  made in the Edwardian period, circa 1905.

Available now for just $3,250 – this is just one example of the treasures in Joe’s Special Box.  For 2021, Joe’s Special Box will be making a comeback…  perhaps the greatest comeback of all time.  Stay tuned and be amazed.
