It’s Not Just For Tuesday

Baubles, Bling and Turquoise Things

With over 112,455 posts, #Turquoisetuesday has become quite a popular trend on Instagram.  On the third day of the week, my feed is guaranteed to be filled with picture upon picture of this captivating bold blue gem.  Occasionally, Dana and I hop on board… sharing some of our favorite turquoise Joden finds.

And then we uncovered this beauty.  Too special to be identified by a simple hashtag, this baby was destined to be a blog all on its own.  Ethereal elegance exudes from this lovely Edwardian bracelet.

Seven inches in length, platinum from end to end, this dainty line of twelve leaf-like links create romantic ambiance.  Each one is hand-set with eleven rose cut diamonds.  These 132 gems have a combined weight of 1.00 carat.  Set back to back, each pair features a bezel set European cut diamond in the center (six stones in all) for an additional .90 carat.

Jewelry was the finishing touch of every Edwardian’s wardrobe.  This opulent era was noted for delicate designs and a predominantly white appearance – platinum, white gold, diamonds and pearls.  That’s what sets our bracelet apart from so many others…  it presents a pop of color!  Six cabochon Persian turquoise beads are interspersed between the diamond links.  Each bold blue stone presents with a high polish finish, shining nearly as bright as the diamonds.

Made in 1905, this Edwardian enchantress is in near perfect condition…  almost like it was never worn.  What a travesty that would be!  Jewelry was never intended to be left in the safe deposit box, your jewelry box or the package it came in.  Jewelry is meant to be worn and appreciated, created and given to bring joy.  Put a little happiness into your day with this bracelet for just $5,850.00.

**Psst!  Call for additional details, this beauty isn’t on our website yet!**

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 80

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

This is the 80th edition of Joe’s Special Box!  I wanted to choose something truly worthy of being the 80th piece…  and I think this bangle more than qualifies.  Made around the turn of the 20th century, it’s a real beauty.  Crafted from a bright 14 karat yellow gold, five individual squares span the top portion of this hinged bracelet.  The center square is the largest with the remainder graduating down in size.

Each square has a tiny Old Mine Cut Diamond in the middle.  The center diamond is surrounded by a halo of cabochon Persian turquoise.  The next two squares have halos created from dainty natural pearls, while the final two segments also feature turquoise… just like the center.  The outer edges of each section have been hand engraved with a lovely pattern of scrolled lines showing how a little touch can add so much!  This bangle, price at $2,650.00 brings a hint of bling to a special occasion, but is still simple enough to be worn every day.  I can’t wait to see what the next 80 pieces will be!

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 48

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

There’s just something about Persian Turquoise…  the color of summer skies and crystal clear Caribbean waters; a bright spot on a dreary day.  This cheerful stone was the darling of jewelers in the 1800’s.  Albert and Victoria gifted it to the train bearers and ladies in waiting in their wedding ceremony in the form of bird brooches and tiny portrait rings.  The stone was considered by many to be a talisman.  Turquoise was believed to protect the wearer against a myriad of things including poisoning and falling off your horse!

This charming bracelet was crafted at the end of the 19th century making it a crossover piece between the end of the Victorian era and the beginning of Art Nouveau.  Handmade from a rich 18 karat yellow gold, this piece is super sweet.  The main portion consists of two matching strands of woven chain.  They create a series of five love knots, each one decorated with a bezel set oval turquoise.  The love knot was a prevalent theme in vintage jewelry – symbolizing a love that lasts forever and cannot be untied.  The center knot features an intricately etched heart charm with a turquoise flower.  My favorite part of the bracelet is the hair receiver on the back of the heart…  complete with a lock of dark hair still coiled inside… so romantic.  The bracelet is in mint condition and priced at $2750.00.  When you come to see it, be sure to mention that it’s in Joe’s Special Box.
