Joe’s Special Box Luxury Edition – Volume 17

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and A Collector’s Things

Each piece in the “Joe’s Special Box” series was carefully (and maybe even stealthily) extricated from one of three cardboard boxes in Joe’s desk.  Many, if not most of these treasures are lovely little trinkets…  not terribly expensive, but oh-so sweet.

But, as is the case with nearly all collectors, Joe’s selection also boasts a few standouts – delicious bits of lavish indulgence.  Whether you’re commemorating a significant birthday, a milestone anniversary, or you simply have stacks of cash to spend…  the baubles from Joe’s Special Box – Luxury Edition are sure to tickle your fancy.

Today’s tempting treat is a visual feast for the eyes.  Made entirely of platinum, this Art Deco dazzler drips with details.  The top portion of the ring is wide, measuring nearly 10mm across.  Tapering gradually, this 1920’s beauty slopes down to a mere 2mm at the base of the shank.  In the space between is where the real magic happens.  A stylized “V” forms the border of the shoulder.  Within the V are approximately thirty-eight individual handmade structures… wires, prongs and bezels.

It was the imagination and vision of the artist that shaped these thirty-eight structures into a masterpiece.  Like a spider constructing a web, each platinum part was placed with perfect precision.  A secondary smaller V mimics the shape of the larger one; tiny wires bridge the gab between the two.  Six bezel-set round diamonds are stacked in a row of three, then two and then one… forming yet another V shape.  This same pattern is replicated on the other shoulder.  An additional fifteen diamonds decorate the remainder of the design. Combined, all twenty-seven diamonds have a complete weight of .50 carat.

Every bit of this delicate filigree was formed to showcase the center stone.  Weighing approximately 2.02 carats, a deep purplish-red ruby shines from within a milgrain-edged bezel.  Original to the ring, this ruby is a natural Earth-mined gem.  The intense hue of this ruby is captivating.  It’s quite rare to find an authentic Art Deco ring with a colored stone center – more often than not, the pieces from that era have a diamond center and small pops of colored trim.  Twice before, we have shared a period ruby ring.  Both sold within one day.  Consider this a word to the wise…  if you love this ring, do not hesitate.  Priced at $15,000.00 – this extravagant elegance won’t last long.  It’s on our site and available in store – come see it for yourself.

Pick of the Week Holiday Edition – Volume 3

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

As promised, we’re back with yet another of our favorite pieces.  Navette-shaped, this elegant ring measures an inch from tip to tip – this style has been beloved for more than 150 years.  Victorians embraced the elongated profile, decorating them with everything from diamonds and colored stones to pearls and turquoise.  This sleek stunner has been on our site for a minute; and to be honest, we’re shocked that it hasn’t sold.

The perfect compliment to any hand, this antique beauty is made from rosy 14-karat yellow gold.  A cushiony-oval natural ruby fills the center of the ring; it’s held in place by four prongs.  Exhibiting a rich raspberry hue, this precious gem weighs approximately 1.40 carats.

Ruby is the July birthstone and has long been utilized to celebrate 40 years of marriage.  Widely accepted as the most desirable of all gemstones, rubies are prized for their glorious red color.  Known as the gemstone of courage, legend has it that those who wear rubies will live a life devoid of fear.  Enhancing this ruby are twenty-six Old Mine Cut diamonds.  Sparkling and shimmering in the light, these diamonds have a combined weight of approximately 1.50 carats!  A single stone marks both the Northern and Southern tips of the ring while the remaining two dozen stones fill the 1890’s setting to perfection.

These photos show the ring on both the middle finger of my left hand as well as the ring finger of my right hand illustrating that this ring is as versatile as it is beautiful.  It looks great and is comfortable and easy to wear.  Rubies and diamonds are extremely durable and ensure that this ring will look great for years to come.  As promised, each piece in this series will be offered at a new and unbelievable price.  Previously listed for $4,850.00, this ring is now priced at just $4,100.00!  Click the photos to take to our site where you can make it yours.
