Joe’s Special Box – Volume 61

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

Whimsical!  That’s the word that Joe used to describe this bracelet, and he was SO right!  Handmade during the 1890’s from a rosy 9 karat gold, it’s the best little accessory for summer.  It pairs perfectly with a light cotton dress or your favorite romper.  The look is similar to a station bracelet but so much more.  Each little bead (or station) has tiny cabochon turquoise and pearls burnished into the surface.  One larger gem-set bead dangles from the center.

Victorians used turquoise with abandon, it was a talisman for them.  They believed it to be a stone of protection; it brought energy, wisdom, and serenity to the wearer.  It is one of the oldest gemstones, it’s use can be traced back to ancient civilizations like the Aztecs and the Shang Dynasty.  Such a rich history for this lustrous blue stone!

Make this vintage gem your lucky charm this summer.  Find it in our Facebook store for just $1450.00.

The Things Golden Dreams Are Made Of

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Golden Things

Choosing a piece of jewelry is like buying a new dress or a great pair of shoes.  It’s a process – first we shop with our eyes.  Customers come in to Joden, milling around, casting their eyes up and down, scanning the cases.  I love watching their faces light up when they find something that speaks to them.  It’s an exciting moment.  Our job is to match each client with the perfect piece, the one that lights them up like a candle.

Coincidentally, the same thing happens to those of us who work in the store…  we dig through new inventory like scavengers searching for buried treasure.  That’s exactly how I discovered this golden beauty.  Joe and Jay had been on a buying trip and returned with a box overflowing with baubles and bling.  As I sifted through, this little ring caught my eye.

There’s nothing like the look and feel of high karat gold.  This ring is made entirely of 22 karat yellow gold – it glides over the knuckle like silk.  The top portion is comprised of a trio of quatrefoil shapes.  Each one is set with thirty-one round brilliant diamonds.  These stones are natural fancy yellow in color with a combined total weight of .50 carat.  The monochromatic effect is simple and stunning at the same time.  This is a ring that will become a part of you, it’s a signature piece.  You will find yourself wanting to wear it every day.

Originally priced at $2,160.00.

Mention this blog and it can be yours for the special price of $1,650.00.

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 60

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

I’m a total book nerd.  It’s a dangerous addiction.  As soon as the plot draws me in, I am unable to put the book down.  My surroundings dissolve, the characters become real – I am lost.  In much the same way, this charm has me completely enchanted.  This little Victorian darling combines two of my loves – books and jewelry.

Fabricated in the late 1800’s, this book locket is crafted from 14 karat yellow gold.  The outside features elaborate engraving – the pattern centers on an equal armed cross comprised of four diamond shapes.  Feathery swirls encompass the four corners while a pair of straps appear to hold it all together.  The interior is plain and open, allowing for a tiny keepsake to be saved inside…  perhaps a small photograph, a lock of hair, or even a love letter.  A perfect choice for any girl, young or old.  It can be worn on a chain around the neck or added to a charm bracelet.  Make it yours for just $595.00; available now in our Facebook store.
