Joe’s Special Box Luxury Edition – Volume 36

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and A Collector’s Things

Today’s featured piece combines two of my favorite things… daisies and sapphires.  My love affair with the bright and cheerful daisy goes back as far as I can remember.  Be they Shasta, Gerbera or African – I adore them.  With a bright and cheerful countenance, daisies are impossible to resist.  Colors and hues for novices and connoisseurs alike, choose from luscious lavender, precious pink, ravenous red, youthful yellow and classic white.  These natural beauties were bountiful at our wedding; they are even hand-engraved on my wedding band.  Simple, yet symbolic, daisies represent everything from innocence and friendship to wisdom and tranquility.  If you’ve overlooked this quaint flower in the past, give them a second thought.  With more than 20,000 unique species – I guarantee there’s one that’s perfect for you.

Perhaps the ideal daisy for you is this pendant!  Made entirely of 14-karat yellow gold, the pendant presents an eight-petaled blossom that measures almost an inch across.  Each petal is formed from a precisely curved piece of wire.  A shorter cut of wire is nestled within each curved petal that holds a four-pronged setting.  That brings us to my second favorite thing featured in this pendant… first was the daisy, second is the sapphires.  Blue is my favorite color…  from the palest powder to the deepest midnight, there isn’t a shade that I don’t adore.  These beauties are azure blue in color; all eight are set inside the pendant – one in each head.  Combined, these sapphires have a weight of about .40 carat.  This small pop of color adds an unexpected yet lovely detail to the  necklace.

The final and central element of this unique pendant is the diamond center.  It’s a transitional round cut stone that weighs approximately 1.65 carats.  Bright and sparkling, it’s a G-H in color and a VS2-SI1 in clarity.  I love this unusual twist on the classic diamond pendant!  Complete with a fifteen-inch, 14-karat yellow gold serpentine chain, this botanical beauty is available for $10,150.00.

Out Of The Blue

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Sparkly Things

I’m a blue girl…  every shade and hue.  It draws me in, I can get lost in a particularly appealing azure.  I can’t seem to resist.  There are a lot of gems that catch my eye:  Topaz, Lapis, Aquamarine, Tanzanite, Kyanite, and Zircon to name a few.  From the palest of pale to a deep dark navy – it’s an explosion of color.  Can you guess which blue beauty is my favorite?  Perhaps I’ve told you before, I am a sapphire girl.

The rich velvety tint of this 2.50 carat cushion cut stunner is bewitching.  In the trade, this tone is most often referred to as Ceylon (or Sri Lanka – the most prolific producer of these gems).  The sapphire is nestled within an 18 karat white gold modern sensation.  On my hand, it stretches from knuckle to knuckle making quite a statement.  Identical pairs of curlicues positioned at 12:00 and 6:00 o’clock face each other.  The design spirals out from there, completely surrounding the center stone.

Every whorl and flourish has been prong set with diamonds, 158 round brilliant sparklers in all totaling .75 carats.  This ring is absolutely dazzling and yet totally wearable.  It’s low profile, the center sits nearly flush with the surface of the mounting.  The two featured stones, sapphire and diamond, are among the most durable gems and are ideal for a daily diversion.  If you’re a sapphire girl like me and you need a little distraction from mundane day to day life, this is your lucky day.  Make today extraordinary for just $7,850.

Sapphire Stimulation

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and Azure Things

This is the first week of the new year!  Social Media is alight with well wishes, celebratory photos, and resolutions for 2019.  Without fail, the end of December (and my tendency to over-indulge during the holiday season) has me vowing to start fresh in January.  I promise myself annually that I will eat healthy and exercise…  low carbs and yoga!  2018 has been no exception.  My co-workers and I actually joked about having an office wide “Biggest Loser” competition.  Do you, too, make these pledges?  Unfortunately, every year I get off track, life gets busy, and I break the pact I made with myself.

Perhaps what I (any maybe you) need is a visual reminder…  a little sparkle of incentive.  What better source of motivation is there than a sapphire ring?  In times past, the rich blue gem was thought to be a symbol of wisdom, virtue, and good fortune.  I am certain that this is the secret to achieving my New Year’s Resolutions!

Art Deco influence abounds in this 18 karat white gold Beverley K Design.  A 2.02 carat oval sapphire is the crowning glory of this vintage inspired beauty.  Milgrain beading outlines a pattern of marquise-shaped leaves, each one accented by a single round brilliant diamond.  The shank of the ring features a deeply etched pattern, completing the look.  Isn’t this the perfect inspiration for all of your 2019 goals?  $5500 seems a small price to pay for a year of success!  😉
