What’s One More?

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and a Perfect Ring

I am going to be brutally honest.  Sometimes the pieces of jewelry run together, one after the other.  It’s a seemingly endless array of platinum diamond rings, gold chains, colored stone earrings…  the list goes on.  Our inventory is vast, boasting thousands of items from the simple to the sublime.  After twenty years of jewelry, it takes something special to catch my eye.  On more than one occasion, I have commented that I just cannot write about another platinum diamond ring.

Without a doubt, those very things…  sweet little vintage diamond rings get more comments than anything else we post on Facebook or Instagram.  Our followers are gaga for a platinum setting glittering from top to bottom with diamonds.  You love them all…  from Edwardian to Art Deco and even Mid Century Modern.  So, when this dainty darling found it’s way to my desk, I couldn’t resist.  After all, what’s one more?

Made during the 1950’s, this beauty focuses on a modern cut round diamond that weighs approximately .60 carat.  This stone is near colorless (G, to be precise) with a clarity grade of VS.  It’s set with angular L-shaped prongs in the corners that give the stone a squarish appearance.  Keeping the geometric theme, three straight baguette cut diamonds are channel set on each side of the center.  These six diamonds have a combined weight of .18 carat.  Eighteen round diamonds create upper and lower borders on this Mid Century ring, adding another .18 carat of bling.  Made entirely of platinum, this ring is priced at $2,980.00 and is available now on joden.com…  just in time for the holidays!

What’s New – Volume Three

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and The Latest Things

This new addition stopped me in my tracks – and after more than twenty years in the jewelry business, that’s quite a feat.  I couldn’t wait to share it with you.  Made in the 1940’s, this Retro ring is a true statement piece.

The physical size alone is impressive.  The ring measures over an inch from top to bottom and is nearly as wide.  It’s striking from every angle.  The structure of the ring, crafted from 14 karat yellow gold, offers geometric patterns in the gallery wires.  The openings are a series of repeating triangles with contoured sides.  This detail is not visible from the top, only from the side and rear view.  I’m a sucker for the fine points that elevate a ring from good to great.

Set atop this superb structure is the real star of the show.  An elongated hexagon-cut amethyst offers a soft lavender hue and subtle sparkle.  Often larger stones are oval shaped or emerald cut.  This unusual silhouette  bring visual appeal to this vintage find. Bezel set and stretching from knuckle to knuckle, the pale purple gem weighs approximately 20 carats.  The lighter tone of the amethyst is another noteworthy characteristic.  Darker more saturated gems are generally favored, but the pastel tone of this amethyst is an impeccable choice for this jewel.  It’s accented by fourteen diamonds nestled into white gold trim at the north, south, east and west sides of the center.

Newly acquired, this ring is priced at $1,675.00.  Ideal on an index or middle finger, this ring is available on our site now.

Baubles, Bling and Every Day Things

There’s no way around it, the holidays are right around the corner and the shopping frenzy has begun.  With the media warning that some of the more commercial gifts might be hard to find, we encourage you to shop small.  Our cases are filled to overflowing with treasures of every kind…  from Victorian to modern, we truly have something for everyone and every budget.  Be sure to check out our social media for your daily dose of holiday dazzle.

Today’s choice is particularly sweet.  Made from a pairing of 18 karat white and yellow gold, this contemporary pendant is an ideal selection.  The petite size is perfect for regular wear.  It makes a simple statement without being over the top.  The center stone is a round raspberry-colored rhodalite garnet.  The lovely purplish-red hue of the gem is further enhanced by a unique faceting technique…  it’s checker cut.  The crown and table of the garnet exhibit square facets resembling a checkerboard, adding an uncommon but brilliant sparkle.

Surrounding the garnet are sixteen round diamonds.  Fourteen of these fully faceted stones are set in an 18 karat white gold halo accent.  The remaining two diamonds are featured within a pair of tiny yellow gold kite-shaped settings located at 6:00 and 12:00 o’clock.  The total weight of all sixteen stones is .10 carat.  Measuring just half an inch from top to bottom, the dainty size of this piece lends it to frequent wear.  It will quickly become your go-to choice.

Suspended from a 14 karat yellow gold twenty-inch foxtail chain, this pendant is ready for your winter wardrobe.  The longer length of the chain is excellent for cozy sweaters.  I love that it’s made in a slide-style.  There is no bail on the pendant, the chain slides through an opening in the piece further simplifying the overall design.  Priced at just $925.00, this beauty is available now.  Call us at 800.747.7552 to make it yours today.
