Joe’s Special Box – Volume 23

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

If you’ve ever visited our showroom at 144 South Broad Street, perhaps you know the secret held inside this small yet elaborately detailed box.  Ornately decorated with filigree-like pattern of swirls, this dainty piece has been delighting everyone who sees it for more than two hundred years.  What could the secret be?  Is it a jewelry box?  Perhaps a snuff box?  Let’s use the ring and pull open the bottom drawer…

Nestled inside, is this tiny key…  it’s handle is crafted to resemble a little bird.  Hmm..  a clue!  Any guesses?  We have a bird in a box – and that’s almost exactly what this piece is known as, except for one missing word.  It’s a Singing Bird Box.

You just want to listen to it over and over!  It’s charming!  Wind him up using the key, then slide the button on the front to the right.  A miniature automaton bird pops up, he dances left and right flapping his wings and tail…  all the while he sings a beautiful song.  And then, when he’s done – he pops back inside and the lid closes.  It’s truly magical!  Come visit him today.

Glittering Gold

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and a Tacori Ring

Timeless and classic – this 18 karat yellow gold ring by Tacori is perfection from every angle.  With a round diamond center stone weighing .70 carat and a single line of square diamonds down each shoulder – this ring is everything!

Trademark Tacori details on the edges and shank add just the right amount of gingerbread to this already beautiful piece.  Every bit of this ring is made from yellow gold – it’s the ideal complement to the warm body color of the center diamond.  Many people think that every girl wants a bright, white diamond…  that just isn’t true!  In fact, many women are drawn to a stone that has a bit of color, like this one.

Not only do many ladies prefer a warm diamond,  we have recently discovered that more and more girls are leaning toward the sultry rich tones of yellow gold.  And it’s not just about color.  They are also loving the low maintenance lifestyle of gold in it’s natural hue.  Unlike white gold, the shiny finish of a yellow gold ring is easily restored by polishing – no rhodium (or “dipping”) required.

Moderately priced at just $3700, this designer bling is the ultimate choice for modern brides in search of enduring elegance.

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 22

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

This photo features two of Joe’s favorite things…  a killer opal ring from his special box as well as a tattered copy of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.  The book is an old friend – one that Joe has recommended to many people for the secret held inside.  The ring is a new find containing a phenomenal black opal – also beloved for the secret it holds inside.

It has been dubbed black opal (the rarest color of this unique stone), but the rainbow shown here is anything BUT black…  that term actually only relates to the body color of the stone.  The darkness of the base allows the fire to really shine.  Those colors, or fire, are caused by microscopic silica spheres in the internal structure.  As light passes through the opal, it bounces off the silica, creating a dazzling effect.  Based on the play of color shown in this stone, it is most likely Lightning Ridge Opal, named for the spot in New South Wales where these gems are mined.

This iridescent beauty is nestled into an Art Deco platinum ring from the 1920’s.  A narrow pair of baguette diamonds complete the classic three stone look, however, the opal is the real star here.  This is one you don’t want to miss…  come to Joden and discover it for yourself.
