What’s New – Volume 44

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and the Latest Things

For years, a myth has been circulating about an engagement ring budget…  it states that three months salary is the standard.  Just throw that right out the window.  No one should spend more on a ring than they can afford – there are countless ways to find the perfect ring without breaking the bank.

While the engagement case at Joden boasts over one hundred different rings in a VERY broad price range – we also have some amazing buys in our antique and estate department.  There are delicate filigree beauties and baguette trimmed numbers with a 1950’s vibe.  There are Victorian solitaires and sapphire gems that are sure to knock your socks off.  Any and all of these have merit on every level – but today, we’re focusing on just one.

This 14-karat yellow and rose gold set is absolutely charming.  I’m always a sucker for a flower ring and this one had me from the beginning.  A pair of five-petaled flowers flank the center stone.  The blossom itself is crafted from rose gold while the stems and leaves are yellow.  The middle of each is marked by a single-cut diamond.  A third matching flower accents the fitted shadow band.

The three single-cut diamonds have a combined weight of .05 carat.  Set between the flowers is one round brilliant diamond secured with four prongs.  This diamond weighs .30 carat.  With a near colorless grade of G and a clarity grade of SI1, it’s a real sparkler.  The two rings nestle perfectly together and are priced at just $980.00 – proof positive that a perfect engagement ring doesn’t have to cost three months salary.  It will be added to our site soon, but if you simply cannot wait…  stop by the store and check it out!

What’s New – Volume 19

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and The Latest Things

Sometimes, Dana and I uncover a piece that we KNOW you guys will go crazy over – mostly because we are infatuated too!  This is that moment…  the latest addition to our estate department is everything.

Made entirely of a rich and buttery 18-karat yellow gold, this ring is absolutely charming.  A singular blossom sits atop this simple narrow band.  Fluted petals form a double-tiered flower that resembles a carnation.  Bright blue enamel coats the soft scallops with a bold pop of color.  The edges have worn, allowing the golden base to peak through…  a detail that I love.

Authentic and original, this ring was made in the late 1800’s during the Art Nouveau period.  One tiny diamond winks from the center of the flower -it’s a single-cut diamond.  These unique cuts were popular in vintage jewelry; they have just seventeen facets as opposed to the fifty-eight facets in a modern round brilliant diamond.

Priced at just $375 – this fresh find won’t last long.  If you love it as much as we do, hop on over to our site and make it yours now.

Pick of the Week – Volume 49

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

As we continue to re-visit previously featured Picks of the Week, we couldn’t resist this lovely pairing.  We’ll call it “Yellow Gold, Two Ways.”  Both rings are made from the rich warm tones of 18 karat yellow gold but one ring is vintage and one is vintage-inspired.

This ring brings to life all the beauty of the Art Nouveau era in a new and modern ring.  With a pair of six-petaled blossoms etched onto the outside edges of the ring, it offers subtle botanical ambiance.  The entire top half of the ring is decorated with a deeply etched swirled pattern.  It cascades down the shoulders, encapsulating two tiny diamond sections.  There are six single cut diamonds in total – three on the left and three on the right.  The crowning glory of the ring is a .76 carat Old European Cut diamond.  Unlike the mounting (brand new with Art Nouveau design influences), this diamond is an authentic old stone.  It completes the design to perfection.  Originally priced at $5,000 – this ring has a featured Pick of the Week price of just $3,675.00.

This primitive piece is a true antique.  Hallmarks inside the shank of the ring ascertain that the ring was made during the 1860’s.. over 160 years ago.  It’s in remarkable condition and features a table cut diamond in the center, a cut more commonly used in the 1700-1800’s.  This uniquely faceted diamond is quite deep and weighs 1.00 carat.  Surrounding this diamond, in a square-shaped halo, are an additional twenty stones.  These rose cuts have a combined weight of .30 carat.  Because this ring is made from 18 karat gold, which tends to be soft, the surface is etched with countless tiny scratches giving the piece a lovely patina – a favorite detail of ours.  Initially priced at $5,350.00 – this ring has been price-reduced to just $4,770.00!

A pair of rings like this make it difficult to decide…  true vintage or vintage-inspired?  If it’s the right ring, perhaps it doesn’t matter at all.
