Pick of the Week Holiday Edition – Volume 9

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

For the last few weeks we have been revisiting some of our favorite pieces with new and updated pricing leading up to the holiday season.  This is the very last “sale” item of 2023.  Due to mixed reviews of this particular jewel, I feel compelled to combine this final edition of the “Pick of the Week” with “Hot or Not”.

“Hot or Not” is super fun!  I share a piece that is a bit unusual, weird, outrageous, bizarre, out-of-style…  dare I say “ugly”?  Just like every other blog piece, I break it down, analyzing each element: the rocks, metal, benefits and drawbacks.  These informative bits of information are peppered with the detailed photos that Dana has taken, highlighting the piece from every angle.  Finally, I ask you the ultimate question…  it it hot?  Or not?

Today, as I was snapping a series of terribly unskilled and unflattering shots of this bracelet with my phone, Joe and I had a mini version of the “Hot or Not” process, each of us decidedly on opposing sides of the quandary.  That’s when I knew that you guys were going to have to be the tie-breaker.

Shown on my wrist, there’s no question that this bracelet is eye-catching.  Even just in physical size, this piece measures 7.5 inches in length and over half an inch wide…. and every single bit of it is covered with glittering gems.  Set in 18-karat white and yellow gold, these sparklers are set in horizontal rows of seven stones each.  The rows are arranged in groups of three that alternate from one color to another and back again.

There are 210 near colorless diamonds that have a combined weight of 8.76 carats.  Next, there are 224 natural colored diamonds that provide an additional 9.34 carats of diamond weight.  Ranging from fancy yellow to fancy intense yellow, these diamonds are indeed colorful.  In our spirited conversation, one of us truly admired and appreciated the deep golden saturation of those diamonds, and one of us remarked that the color looked more like citrine or perhaps yellow sapphire than fancy yellow diamonds.

The construction is superior, of that there is no doubt.  Each stone is held in place with four individual prongs – no stones share prongs.  In addition, the bracelet is in superb, like-new condition with little to no signs of wear.  The question here isn’t about quality, it’s about style.

This bracelet has been evaluated by the International Gemological Institute of America; they assessed the retail replacement value at $56,460.00.  Purchased in the second-hand market, we have had it listed on our site for more than two years for $42,800.00…  a great deal for an 18-karat gold piece containing 18.10 carats of fine diamonds.  Today, we are offering it at the further discounted price of just $38,500.00.  This price that has brought me once again to the ultimate question – Is it hot?  Or not?  If your answer is “hot”, hop on over to our site and take advantage of this unbelievable price!

Pick of the Week Holiday Edition – Volume 8

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

One of the most advantageous aspects of estate jewelry is the ability to purchase a desirable designer piece at a price that makes sense.  For more than fifty years, Joden Jewelers has worked tirelessly to curate a collection of antique and estate jewelry that is not only beautiful but also great value.  Quite often, we are able to acquire true couture jewels from iconic designers like Cartier, Tiffany, Van Cleef, and Raymond Yard.  We truly love bringing our customers the best of the best at an affordable price.

This reverse crystal brooch brings the acorn woodpecker to life.  With animated features, this charming feathered creature is showcased within the lofty branches of an oak tree.  Reverse crystal (Essex crystal) jewelry begins with a cabochon piece of rock quartz.  An image or picture is etched into the back side of the quartz and is then handpainted.  When viewed from the top, it appears to be three-dimensional.

Created by Raymond Yard, this charming piece can be enjoyed as either a pin or a pendant.  My favorite detail of the brooch is the styling.  The nature vibe doesn’t stop with the reverse crystal, it continues into the frame.  Mr. Yard carved a 14-karat yellow gold branch to nestle the large oval showpiece upon.  The sculpted and lifelike feel of the branch sings in harmony with the scene painted within.

Previously priced at $5,250.00, this enchanting piece is available now for just $4,475.00!  If this beautiful bird is singing your song, fly over to our site and make him yours today.
