Signature Series – Volume 13

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Quality Things

Some of the most coveted pieces of estate jewelry are branded jewels.  In fact, we know several companies that deal exclusively with signed goods – for good reason.  There is no doubt that there are some incredible deals out there.  If you’re a savvy shopper and do your research, you can nab yourself a truly special piece of fine jewelry at a fraction of the original price.  At Joden, we love sharing these incredible buys with you!

Tiffany & Co. is one of the most iconic and sought after names in the second hand market.  Not only are they one of the most popular brands, Tiffany is also one of the most prolific makers of jewelry.  Selling more than $4 billion dollars of jewelry each year, this exemplary manufacturer has produced A LOT of bling.

Although the modern pieces from the current collections have their own charm and certainly a cult-like following, it’s the vintage gems that really speak to me.  My most recent obsession is with all things Mid Century Modern.  I’m crazy about the style and spirit of that era.

This bracelet is a perfect example.  Made from 14-karat yellow gold, this 1950’s bit of wrist candy is delightfully whimsical.  Measuring a generous 7.5 inches, it showcases a floral pattern.  Spanning the center section are three identical flowers, each one is comprised of square-cut garnets.  Nestled between them are two smaller links that also highlight those same square garnets.  Combined, these crimson beauties offer approximately 5.00 carats of sparkle.

It’s the color of those garnets that really gets me…  these gems aren’t brown, or even brownish-red.  Vivacious and lively, these garnets are bright red.  Google tells me that this color is indicative of Pyrope garnet.  Whatever the name – the color is spectacular and best appreciated in person.

Creating the length of the bracelet are a series of gold leaf-like links.  There are ten of these stylized chevrons (like little puffy hearts) on each side, culminating with a spring ring clasp.  The iconic Tiffany signature is artfully fitted onto the back of one link.  I searched the internet for a matching bracelet.  As hard as I tried, I could not locate an exact match.  I found a similar Tiffany piece that was previously listed on 1st Dibbs for $4,130.00.  Our bracelet sold for just $2,850.00!  This incredible piece was out the door before we had an opportunity to post the blog!  Just a quick reminder that pieces do sell quickly – don’t sleep on something you really love.  ♥
