Baubles, Bling, and The Latest Things

Jewelry elicits strong emotional responses – visceral and usually immediate.  Many (perhaps even most) of our customers “ooh” and “aah” over diamonds, colored stones and the more traditional pieces.  There are, however, a few things that are met with a much more intense reaction.  A couple examples include mourning jewelry, natural scarabs and… hearts.

Yes, hearts.  You either love them or you hate them.  There’s no middle of the road.  For me, after more than twenty years in the jewelry industry, it’s a “no”.  They’re overdone.  Too cliché.  Cheesy.  I have also come to accept that many people love them.  This blog is dedicated to those people.

Recently acquired, this pendant is part of our estate collection.  And although it’s not a motif that I would choose for myself, I can certainly appreciate the fine quality of this piece.  Made entirely of a rich, buttery 18 karat yellow gold, this heart offers real style.  It’s got great curves and a really good feel.  It’s heavy… with a true sense of distinction.

The edge is thick and wide… even the back is finished to perfection with a series of curlicue cut-outs.  This solid frame is set with thirty-six large tapered baguette diamonds.  These step-cut stones have a combined weight of over 4.50 carats!  The average color grade of the diamonds is H-I and the average clarity grade is VS.   This is no ordinary diamond heart necklace that you can pick up at the mall but rather a unique piece of fine jewelry.

While I would not buy this for myself, there’s just something about it.  I can’t seem to stop looking at it.  Someone is going to absolutely love it!  Available for the steal of a deal price of just $5,250.00 – call us to make it yours today.  1-800-747-7552.

A Pop of Color

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and a Dazzling Ring

Tonight, when I showed my husband the piece for this blog, he remarked (with a bit of shock) on how shiny and sparkly it was.  I handed it to him so he could get a closer look.  With a little assistance from a small maglite, he was mesmerized by the light dancing across the diamond.  It’s truly hypnotic.

I knew this ring was special from the moment I first saw it.  Then, it was a semi-mounting – with no center stone.  I loved the combination of the cool gray tone of the platinum and the rich red hue of the calibré-cut rubies – a perfect pairing.  Offering a pop of color, those twenty-five cherry red gemstones have a combined weight of .50 carat.  Six Old European cut diamonds are nestled into the narrow shoulders of the Art Deco inspired design.  Just a whisper of sparkle, these tiny diamonds have a weight of just .11 carat.

Each of these details help to create the ideal setting for the center diamond, selected and set in our on-premises shop.  It’s a bright 1.88 carat round brilliant dazzler.  It’s bezel set within a milgrain-accented band of platinum.  The color grade of the diamond is slightly tinted (L-M) and it’s exceptionally clean (VVS1-2 in clarity).

Shown from behind, you can appreciate the hand-pierced pattern that forms the under gallery of the ring.  Not just decorative, these artistic cutouts are every bit as functional as they are fashionable.  They allow light to pass beneath the diamond and they also make it possible to keep the stone clean.   Accompanied by a report from the International Gemological Institute of America (note how the Report Number is engraved inside the shank of the ring), this beauty has a retail replacement value of $17,915.00.

Catching my eye is one thing.  Catching the eye of my husband is quite another.  His attention is usually reserved for fast cars, vintage trucks and me (of course).  If he’s dazzled, you will be blown away.  Come and see the magic for yourself – it’s available now for just $12,800.00.

Baubles, Bling, and The Latest Things

These earrings are like, so totally tubular!  They prove that the saying is true…  everything old eventually becomes new again.  And while I don’t know if sky-high bangs and Aquanet are in my future, there’s no doubt that eighties bling is back!

Fashionistas and style icons everywhere are bringing back bold gold chains and stacks of bangle bracelets.  Say goodbye to tiny, discreet necklaces and dainty diamond rings.  Right now, it’s all about large, distinctive pieces that make a statement.

Made from 18 karat yellow gold, these audacious earrings are so much fun.  Triangular in shape, they are bright and daring…  definitely not for shrinking violets!  Measuring about an inch in diameter, they feature three insets of pavé diamonds in each one.  These seventy-two round brilliant diamonds have a combined weight of approximately 3.00 carats.  Sparkling with every turn of your head, the average color grade of the diamonds is I and average clarity grade is VS.

Shown from behind, even the back portion is decorative…  the open design helps to lighten the earring to make it more wearable and also mimics the shape and pattern of the front side.  Currently able to be born on pierced or non-pierced ears, these modern gems clasp with secure fold-over backs.  Posts could be added but are not necessary.

These large and dramatic earrings from the 1980’s are just the bit of retro radiance that you need in your life.  Pair them with your favorite holiday dress or amp up your ugly Christmas sweater game with these bodacious beauties for just $3,200.00.
