What’s New – Volume 14

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and The Latest Things

This week’s edition is fresh from our shop.  We paired a brand new mounting from our inventory with a deep blue emerald cut sapphire to create this classic style.

The ring itself is constructed entirely from platinum.  It offers several sought-after elements that include:

  1. Clean lines – this is a classic design that will never fade.
  2. Diamond trim – the shoulders of the ring feature a line of diamonds that graduate in size.  The diamonds are tiny at the top and get larger as they cascade down the finger.
  3. Hidden Halo – this delicate ring of diamonds sits just beneath the center stone.  It’s the latest evolution of one of the hottest trends in engagement rings in the last ten years.
  4. Bridged Center Stone – the center stone in this ring sits tall on the finger.  This is quite an advantage if you have selected this as an engagement ring or if you enjoy stacking rings.  A band will snug flush against the side of the ring.

Seated in the center of this timeless treasure is a beautiful blue sapphire that weighs .94 carat.  An emerald cut is also known as a step-cut.  When viewed from the top, it looks like a square inside a square inside a square.  This particular style is reserved for stones that are very clean internally, with little to no imperfections.

Between the stones in the shoulders and the ones in the hidden halo, there are a total of thirty-two diamonds.  These bright and sparkling gems have a combined weight of .50 carat.  Exhibiting the ideal balance between the pop of color and the accenting diamonds, this ring is simple perfection.

Available on our site, choose this ring for a non-traditional engagement ring.  Wear it as a right-hand ring for a splash of color.  Every element of this ring is designed for endurance – the platinum, the sapphires and the diamonds.  Each of these things exhibit durable beauty.  This is a piece that you can wear every single day.  Priced at just $2,640.00 – it won’t last long.

Once In A Lifetime

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Heirloom Quality Things

Typically, I am not a fan of saving your jewelry for special occasions.  Why wait to wear the things that bring you so much joy?  If you take care of your pieces and have them serviced regularly, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t enjoy them.  Whether you’re heading out for dinner or working from your home office – my advice is to break out that bling!

But there’s an exception to every rule, right?  You probably wouldn’t wear a wedding gown to the supermarket.  Some jewelry is every bit as formal as that gown…  and most likely not for every day wear.  Like these earrings, for instance….  over three inches of 18-karat shimmering, showstopping splendor.

The opulence begins with a .61 carat cushion diamond set within a delicate diamond halo.  Three gemstone chains fan out, two forming the outside line of the earring while the center one becomes an articulated dangle in the center of this pear-shaped ear candy.  The two outer chains loop down and connect…  they are comprised of a series of fancy cut aquamarine, morganite and round brilliant diamonds.  The center pendulum ends with a 15 mm South Sea Pearl.

With twelve aquamarines and ten morganite, there are four carats of gem weight.  Amp up the bling factor with two hundred and forty diamonds that offer 7.83 carats of glittering glow.  These are not your average pearl earrings.  These are once-in-a-lifetime event earrings.  This time, my advise is to treasure these beauties, keep them for that special day.  Destined to become a cherished piece of heirloom jewelry, these beauties are priced at $15,000.00.  Check them out on our site now.

What’s New – Volume 13

Baubles, Bling, and The Latest Things

Fantastical.  This week’s latest find is spectacularly over the top.  An inspiring spray of 18 karat yellow gold and platinum feathers, it reminds me of a phoenix.  This mythical bird is the physical representation of resilience.  Rumored to live at least 500 years, when the phoenix reaches the end of its life, it makes a nest and sets it on fire.  This remarkable creature is completely consumed by the flames.  Finally, out of those same flames, a new phoenix is born.

Strikingly beautiful, this pairing offers a bold silhouette.  Measuring almost three inches tall, this brooch is quite sizable.  The body is comprised of fourteen 18 karat yellow gold textured feathers that are accented with marquise-shaped diamond trim.  An additional five feathers create the tail plumage, these constructed of platinum and diamonds.

The earrings complement the design of the brooch, each one presenting a fan of six golden feathers and diamond trim.  Between both pieces, there are seventeen marquise diamonds and sixty-four round diamonds with a combined total weight of 3.25 carats.

Shown here, you can see that these are true statement pieces.  Made in the 1960’s or 1970’s during the Mid Century Modern period, the craftsmanship is superb.  The pair is priced at $6,750.00.

Customers often remark that they have nowhere to wear pieces like this…  many joke that these are bit too much for the grocery store.  While I agree that I probably wouldn’t pin this brooch to my coat before heading to the supermarket…  part of me says “Why not!”  Rather than allow your most prized possessions to collect dust in the bottom of your safe or jewelry armoire, wear them – even if it’s only to the living room!
