Joe’s Special Box Meets Pick of the Week – Volume 59

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and A Collector’s Things

Love birds mate for life… this deep connection begins with a courtship that lasts a lifetime. These affectionate, sociable and intelligent creatures are charming and devoted partners.  During mating season, the bond is so deep, love birds can even become jealous.

If the pair becomes separated, as soon as they are reunited, they feed each other to reestablish their link.  In the unfortunate event of a death, the remaining partner exhibits erratic behavior that can only be described as depression or grief.

Evidence of these remarkable birds can be traced back more than 1.9 million years.  They’re cavity dwellers, preferring to make their homes inside of holes in trees, rocks, and even shrubs.  Within these homes, they live with their partners or in larger groups…  like families.

A pair of these charming creatures have been captured in this unique diamond brooch.  Made from platinum, the pin depicts two birds drinking from an ornate bird bath.  Shown on the hand, this piece is small in size, measuring just 1.25 inches from top to bottom.

It’s very wearable, suited to a man or a woman.  Featuring a white gold fold-over double pin stem, it fastens easily to a lapel, collar, or necktie.  Two hidden loops allow this whimsical piece to also be worn as a pendant or slide, as shown below.  Each bird is comprised of two pear-shaped diamonds and a trapezoid-cut tail.  The fountain is formed with a dazzling array of fancy-shaped sparklers including three additional trapezoids, four emerald-cuts, and thirty-four Old European cut diamonds for a grand total of 3.25 carats!  Nine specialty cut onyx form a scalloped design near the base of the fountain.

The array of diamond cuts, the stellar quality of the workmanship and the overall appeal of the piece caught Joe’s eye.  It’s a truly special piece that’s been featured on our site for $18,500.00…  a price that definitely lands in the luxury category.  Sometimes, price pushes a piece to an unreachable plateau – perhaps that’s why our little lovebirds haven’t found a home.  We’ve decided to make this bit of luxury into a featured Pick of the Week.  This tiny treasure is being offered at a very tempting price.  Check it out on our site where it’s available for just $12,500.00!

These feathered friends are enviable in every aspect – lovely, devoted and valued.  Perhaps you have a soulmate, a partner…  a lovebird to call your own.  Show your love in 12,500 little ways.

What’s New – Volume 75

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and the Latest Things

Splish-splash, they’re taking a bath.  A charming trio of tweety birds are captured frolicking in the cool blue water shimmering within a sculptured pedestal bath.  This impressive 14-karat yellow gold piece can be enjoyed in two ways – as a brooch or as a pendant.  Presenting in a classic circle style – the diameter of this piece is a full two inches.

Every detail of the flora and fauna depicted in this eye-catching gem comes to life in three-dimensional style.  A large trumpet vine sweeps across the entire top of the outer frame offering a singular blossom and a pair of buds…  a round iridescent pearl marks the center of each one.  Decorating the landscaping are six five-petaled flowers and large textured leaves.  Filling the center of each flower are a series of gemstones: two fuchsia rubies, two azure sapphires, one turquoise and one diamond.

Both rubies are faceted and have a combined weight of .35 carat.  One sapphire is faceted and one is cabochon – together, these gems have a total weight of .30 carat.  The singular diamond glistens with .10 carat of scintillating sparkle.  Finally, one large marquise-shaped gem creates the water in the bird bath – lavender-hued, this stone is synthetic.

It’s the ultimate garden party… artfully portrayed in the warmth of gold and gleam of precious gems.  This 1940’s pin/pendant is vivacious, whimsical and most importantly…  it’s available.  Moderately priced at $2,050.00 – it’s featured in our showroom.  Drop by and see it for yourself.
