Pick of the Week – Volume Ten

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

There’s no question, I love flower designs and botanical patterns.  The appeal of tiny blossoms and leafy detail is simply irresistible.  I find myself being drawn to pieces with floral style.  And I’m not alone… our customers seem to gravitate toward these beauties as well.

This Pick of the Week speaks to me on more than one level.

The overall shape of the ring is everything.  Navette rings have been at the forefront of design since the Victorian era.  Pointed tips and equally contoured sides form a marquise silhouette.  The elegant and timeless appeal complements every hand and elongates the finger.  This platinum pick is no exception.

Ten diamond-set fronds form the outline, arching gracefully around the upper and lower portion of the ring.  These delicate leaves border a killer center stone.  Weighing in at 1.25 carats, this near colorless beauty really packs a punch.  Laboratory graded as an I-J, VS1-2, this round brilliant diamond is impossible to resist.  I love how the leaves envelop the center stone, accenting it to perfection without drawing attention away from it.  The balance achieved in this 1960’s design is genius.

Let’s crunch the numbers:

  • Laboratory Appraisal Value: $14,405.00
  • Original Joden Price:  $11,475.00
  • Unbelievable Pick of the Week Price:  $8,850.00

Vintage flair with a modern twist…  that’s how I would describe this piece.  Wear it on your right hand or your left, it works on a ring finger just as easily as it does a index or middle finger.  You can’t go wrong.  Check it out on our site or visit us in person!

Pick of the Week – Volume Eight

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

One short decade…  1901-1910.  The importance of the Edwardian Era far outreached those brief years.  With roots in the Victorian period and wings into what would become Art Deco, Edwardian jewelry was very influential.  Marked by a lacy and light appearance, the pieces from this time remain some of the most desirable antique gems.

A couple of months ago (when Pick of the Week was born) we shared a striking photo that had our followers going crazy for one particular ring…

This now iconic picture showcased three beauties that were destined to become features.  Two of them have come and gone with little fanfare – but one remains.  Many of you inquired about the ring in the lavender velvet box…  what size is that center diamond?  What metal is it made from?  And, of course, how much is it?

There was just one tiny glitch…  it wasn’t an old favorite, but rather a new arrival.  This photo was snapped the very day we got that infamous ring.  And so, it was against the grain of everything we wanted the Pick of the Week to be.  This new blog was created to shine a spotlight on hidden gems in the Joden inventory; draw attention to pieces that we’ve had on our site for a longer period of time.

Finally, the day you’ve been waiting for is here!  Made at the turn of the twentieth century from a classic combination of rosy yellow gold with a platinum top, this ring is absolutely divine.  A delicate picture-frame of fine wires showcases a sunburst of triangular diamond accents.  Each one is bead and bright cut set with a singular Old European Cut diamond.  Together, they point to that glorious center stone – a 1.06 carat Old Euro.  This gem dazzles from every angle and is the true star of the show.

Impeccable craftsmanship combines with unique style in spectacular fashion.  This ring slides over the knuckle and settles oh-so comfortably at the base of the finger. Classic low profile design and a bezel set center diamond single this beauty out as suitable for daily wear.  And although this ring is still a new arrival, we are giving it the Pick of the Week special pricing.  Originally on our site for $5,950 – we now have it available for just $4,950!

Don’t hesitate for one single second!  Go to our site and look, then come to Joden and touch.

Pick of the Week – Volume Seven

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

I am super excited that the Pick of the Week has been so popular!  You guys have really responded to our latest venture, motivating us to keep it going.  If you have a favorite Joden piece that’s been on your wish list, let us know…  perhaps it could be the next Pick of the Week.

This week, Dana and I chose a classic antique ring with romantic appeal.  Two stone rings surged in popularity when Napoleon Bonaparte presented Josephine with one in 1796.  The significance is straight-forward and simple…  one stone for me and one stone for you – earning it the title “moi et toi”.  Our ring is a lovely yellow gold beauty set with a pair of cabochon opals.  These gems flash with sparks of green, blue, orange and red – a kaleidoscope of bold color.  Nestled between the opals are a graduated trio of diamonds – these stones have a combined weigh of .15 carat, another layer of sparkle for this Victorian beauty.

The setting is made from 10 karat gold, and acts as a subtle yet vital supporting cast for those opals, the true stars of this show.  Twenty claw-like prongs extend from the shank of the ring, holding all the stones perfectly in place.  We’ve often talked about three-stone rings – the symmetry of that style has a broad-based appeal.  A two-stone ring is something a bit different, often appealing to those with an eye for sophisticated elegance.  Originally priced at $1,800.00 – this week we are offering this opalescent gem for just $1,425.00!  Make it yours today.
