Joe’s Special Box – Volume 80

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

This is the 80th edition of Joe’s Special Box!  I wanted to choose something truly worthy of being the 80th piece…  and I think this bangle more than qualifies.  Made around the turn of the 20th century, it’s a real beauty.  Crafted from a bright 14 karat yellow gold, five individual squares span the top portion of this hinged bracelet.  The center square is the largest with the remainder graduating down in size.

Each square has a tiny Old Mine Cut Diamond in the middle.  The center diamond is surrounded by a halo of cabochon Persian turquoise.  The next two squares have halos created from dainty natural pearls, while the final two segments also feature turquoise… just like the center.  The outer edges of each section have been hand engraved with a lovely pattern of scrolled lines showing how a little touch can add so much!  This bangle, price at $2,650.00 brings a hint of bling to a special occasion, but is still simple enough to be worn every day.  I can’t wait to see what the next 80 pieces will be!

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 33

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

I’m not into heart shapes.  Well, maybe if it’s a cookie, but not in jewelry.  Once in a long while one of these little love tokens will catch my eye – like this diminutive beauty.  Measuring only one inch from the top of the bail to the point at the bottom, this symbol of affection is completely covered in Old Mine Cut diamonds; twenty-nine of them to be exact, with a combined weight of 1.50 carats.

I adore everything about this piece…  especially that it’s not just a pendant, it’s also a pin.  Although brooches aren’t as popular as they once were, one of this size is much easier to wear…  pin it to your collar, your lapel, or even your cuff for a trendy modern feel.  Style it short like a choker or on your favorite strand of pearls for a classic look, this gem is so versatile.

Made during the late 1800’s, this Victorian pendant is in pristine condition.  A lovely rosy patina has developed on the 18 karat yellow gold framework, adding another element of vintage appeal.  It’s as beautiful today as it was when it was made, nearly 150 years ago.  It’s no surprise that I found it in Joe’s Special Box.  Priced at $4,700.00, this pendant melts my heart.

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 21

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

This Georgian ring is complete perfection – from the cushion cut .50 carat Burma ruby in the center to the swirls and whorls of 18 karat yellow gold that create the band.  Probably made during the early to mid-1800’s, this open work beauty is in mint condition and would be an asset to any jewelry box.

My eyes hardly know what to look at first…  the rich red of the ruby, those killer Old Mine Cut diamonds, or the intricate beaded gold work.  Each detail has been tended to with the utmost care, not one thing was neglected.  I can see why Joe chose to add this ring to his Special Box.  Priced at $2550, it’s ideal for a non-traditional engagement ring or a right hand ring.  Visit us at Joden and see it for yourself.
