Undeniably, one of the most universally requested pieces of jewelry is a cross. A badge of the Christian faith, the cross symbolizes sacrifice, redemption and hope. This 14-karat yellow gold beauty measures more than two inches tall and over an inch across. Filling out the shape are six well-matched citrine gemstones. Although the length of each stone varies, they are all emerald cut. Sturdy and strong, the framework of this cross mimics the shape of each stone it holds. Viewed from the back, it looks very much like a stained-glass window. The craftsmanship is superb, so much so that this piece could even be worn backwards.

The gently curved arms of this cross are made from four pear-shaped pieces of citrine. Golden honey in color, the shimmer of light that plays across the surface of each gemstone is incredible. When selecting these pieces for the blog, I debated whether this would be a “His and Hers” or would it be a “This or That” edition. Obviously, I opted for the latter – although, there is no doubt that these two necklaces would also be amazing for any couple. Now, for the big question.
