Signature Series – Volume 9

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Quality Things

The countdown is on for my beach vacation 2023…  in less than one month, I will be soaking up Vitamin D on the Florida coast.  White sand, blue water and crispy pink skin – there’s nothing more soul-soothing than the sights and sounds of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the shore bringing a plethora of shells and creatures with it.  As the tide rushes back out to the sea, I always attempt to catch all the best shells before they disappear back into the great abyss.  Collecting each tiny treasure, I tuck them into the beverage pocket of my chair… by the end of the week, there’ll be a bevy of beauty.  From the smallest scallop shell to fully coiled conch shells – these finds are the best kind of souvenir.

Perhaps the second-best relic is the perfect piece of jewelry, like this showstopper from Bvlgari.  Spanning the center of this 14mm wide platinum band are three cabochon angel skin coral.  With a whisper of pink, these rare gems present the softest colors from the depths of the ocean floor.  There are over 9000 species of coral – less then 12 of them are considered precious and only a fraction of that can be legally and responsibly harvested for use in jewelry.  Coral is now fished in a way that doesn’t harm or destroy its natural habitat.

Most precious varieties of coral grow at depths of more than fifty meters where they aren’t as vulnerable to the changing temperature of the water.  Corals are sessile, meaning they attach themselves to the ocean floor.  These spineless organisms have a soft body with an external skeleton made of calcium carbonate.  Ranking a three on the Mohs scale, coral is quite soft in comparison to other gemstones.  Ranging in color from the palest pink to a deep red, precious coral is noted for uniformity in hue and a porcelain-like luster after polishing.  The breathtaking colors have made it a desirable choice of jewelers for centuries.

Accenting the subtle salmon shade of coral in this ring are diamonds in both baguette and round brilliant cuts.  There are four straight baguette cut diamonds, set in pairs to the left and right of the center.  These step-cut beauties have a total weight of approximately .20 carat.  Then, set in pavé style are five rows of round diamonds.  The combined weight of these fifty-two sparklers is approximately 1.80 carats.  Since opening their doors in 1884, Bvlgari has been known for exquisite craftsmanship and magnificent creations.  A perfect square opening, known as an azure, has been cut beneath each diamond.  This type of precision manufacturing allows for two things:  light to reach the diamond (essential for sparkle) and the ability to clean the gems.

When Bvlgari introduced colored stones in the mid-1950’s, their brand rocketed to even greater heights.  This versatile and distinctive icon offered strong design and combined it with unconventional materials like hematite and coral.  Bvlgari has “pushed the boundaries of luxury, giving life to creations that were as pleasant to be seen as to be touched, like a second skin”.  This ring is an impeccable example of everything that Bvlgari has become synonymous with…  the vibe is beyond color and form.  It embodies an enduring aesthetic appeal.  If you’re as captivated by the timeless allure of this platinum and coral charmer – click over to our site.  This vintage ring is the latest addition to our Signature Series; make it yours for just $4,850.00.

Iconic Legends

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Lasting Things

“The Bvlgari brand is emblematic of excellence, having ensured, for more than 130 years, the absolute value of its creations, in the interest of its customers.”

From its beginnings in 1884, with visionary founder Sotirio Bvlgari at the helm, the now famous brand became synonymous with exquisite craftsmanship and extraordinary creations.  Always paying homage to the Italian roots of the company, the Bvlgari label has built an empire on contemporary cutting edge design.

From the Cicladi Collection, this whimsical style is celebrated for the overlapping circles – each one turning on its own… independently of the others.  This luxurious fidget spinner is made from 18 karat white gold.  Two of the discs are pavé set with round brilliant diamonds, twenty-eight in all.  With a total weight of .20 carat, the diamonds add dimension and shine to the mirror-like finish of the ring.  It’s impossible to wear the ring without twirling the circles.  Playful and fun, it’s available in our estate department for just $1,200.00.

Dubbed the Cabochon Dome ring for it’s avant-garde appearance, this sculptural piece makes a bold statement.  A smooth satin texture softens the industrial vibe.  I love how the Bvlgari logo has been perfectly etched inside.  This simple detail is the very thing that makes this brand stand out.

It rises gracefully off the finger with a double cut-out motif on each side.  These slivers slice into the ring, nearly touching in the center and are finished inside to a high-polish sheen.  Innovative design meets eclectic flair for just $1,200.00.

Always drawing inspiration from their historic heritage, this piece is a tribute to the Coloseum in Rome.  Called the B.Zero 1 ring, the outside swirls around in a modern imitation of the iconic walls of the Colosseum.  Made entirely of 18 karat white gold, it also features a bit of motion that is ultra cool.  When pushed from the sides, the ring compresses and then springs back!  Still current on the Bvlgari website, it sells new for $2,530.00.  This one, finger size 7, is available here for only $1,500.00!

If you love fine jewelry with a modernist flair, then Bvlgari is the designer for you.  These contemporary styles on the cutting edge of fashion will bring a bit of luxury to your life at a price that makes sense.
