Baubles, Bling and Quality Things

I am constantly learning about and discovering “new to me” jewelry designers.  One of my latest favorites is a modern maker that seems to be popping up more and more.  Debuting in New York just a couple decades ago in 1999, Ippolita has taken adornment to the next level.

Born and raised in Florence, Ippolita Rostagno has always been inspired by Italian culture.  She drew on her education in sculpture and ceramics to create large scale wonders in bronze and stone.  It wasn’t much of a leap to apply her artist’s eye to jewelry.

The deep yellow hue of 18-karat gold forms an edgy frame in these modern earrings.  Hanging from a wire, these beauties offer style, color and movement.  From her Rock Candy collection they feature a pair of uniquely faceted purplish-pink gems.  Known as kunzite, these pastel pretties swing independently inside the gold frame.  The look is simplistically sleek and yet still playful.  They segue easily from day to night.  Pair them with everything from denim to silk; they’ll quickly become your favorite accessory.  If you love them as much as I do, ask Santa to leave them under your tree… they’re a steal for just $1,280.00.
