Baubles, Bling and A Collector’s Things

Today’s featured piece combines two of my favorite things… daisies and sapphires.  My love affair with the bright and cheerful daisy goes back as far as I can remember.  Be they Shasta, Gerbera or African – I adore them.  With a bright and cheerful countenance, daisies are impossible to resist.  Colors and hues for novices and connoisseurs alike, choose from luscious lavender, precious pink, ravenous red, youthful yellow and classic white.  These natural beauties were bountiful at our wedding; they are even hand-engraved on my wedding band.  Simple, yet symbolic, daisies represent everything from innocence and friendship to wisdom and tranquility.  If you’ve overlooked this quaint flower in the past, give them a second thought.  With more than 20,000 unique species – I guarantee there’s one that’s perfect for you.

Perhaps the ideal daisy for you is this pendant!  Made entirely of 14-karat yellow gold, the pendant presents an eight-petaled blossom that measures almost an inch across.  Each petal is formed from a precisely curved piece of wire.  A shorter cut of wire is nestled within each curved petal that holds a four-pronged setting.  That brings us to my second favorite thing featured in this pendant… first was the daisy, second is the sapphires.  Blue is my favorite color…  from the palest powder to the deepest midnight, there isn’t a shade that I don’t adore.  These beauties are azure blue in color; all eight are set inside the pendant – one in each head.  Combined, these sapphires have a weight of about .40 carat.  This small pop of color adds an unexpected yet lovely detail to the  necklace.

The final and central element of this unique pendant is the diamond center.  It’s a transitional round cut stone that weighs approximately 1.65 carats.  Bright and sparkling, it’s a G-H in color and a VS2-SI1 in clarity.  I love this unusual twist on the classic diamond pendant!  Complete with a fifteen-inch, 14-karat yellow gold serpentine chain, this botanical beauty is available for $10,150.00.
