Baubles, Bling, and The Latest Things

A perfect square tipped on it’s edge looks like a diamond.  This dainty brooch has taken that form in the most elegant way.  Each side of this geometric shape measures about an inch, the overall size is petite and easy to wear.  14-karat yellow gold wire-work creates an intricate pattern of swirls and whorls.  

Expertly fitted into each corner is a tiny platinum fleur-de-lis, which is French for lily flower.  There are four rose cut diamonds set within each fleur-de-lis.  These sixteen diamonds have a total weight of .15 carat.  The snow white lily represents purity and chastity.  Captivated by its hue, the Catholic church adopted the lily as a symbol for the Virgin Mary.  She has been depicted many times holding a lily.

A large round cabochon moonstone is bezel set within the center of the brooch.  Opalescent and luminous, the stone exhibits a soft glow, like a full moon in a starry night sky.  This ethereal gem is one of the most recent additions to our estate department.  Not yet on our site, this brooch is available in our store for just $1,280.00.

The perfect balance achieved by the number three has been beloved by jewelers for centuries often manifesting itself in the form of a three-stone ring.  This week, we have an exceptional example.  

Painstakingly handcrafted from platinum, this Art Deco beauty is overflowing with intricate details.  Shown in profile, the shoulder of the ring showcases everything that early 20th century jewelry is known for.  There are hand-pierced openings in the shape of tiny leaves and elongated paisleys.  Each one is further accented by beaded milgrain edges and deeply etched engraving.  Nestled among this majesty are six single-cut diamonds that have a total weight of .11 carat.  The artistry has no beginning, no middle and no end.

Everything’s better with a bow, right?  Dana and I are all tied up over this latest diamond studded edition to our estate department.  Bridging the gap between the end of the Victorian era and the beginning of the Edwardian period, this authentic and original bracelet is practically perfect in every way. 

Five individual pieces of 14 karat yellow gold curb-link chain measuring seven inches each comprise the base of the bracelet.  These fine chains are not soldered together, they’re loose allowing for a bit of movement.  Permanently affixed to the center of the bracelet is one of three silver bows.  The other two are soldered to the left and right of the center at evenly spaced intervals.  Made of 800 silver (as hallmarked on the back of the clasp), these tiny three-dimensional bows are unusually shaped with large loops and very short tails.  There are exactly eight diamonds in each for a total of twenty-four stones that have a combined weight of approximately .50 carat.
