This or That – Volume Two

 Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Beaded Things

With an inventory like ours, where the cases are filled to overflowing – there are always choices.  If you’re looking for a sapphire ring, we won’t have just one, more likely we will have one hundred.  Joe often boasts that the most unique aspect of Joden is that we truly have something for everyone and every budget.  If you visit our showroom we guarantee you’ll fall in love.

It was no surprise to me that within our treasure chest of gems and jewels we have more a handful of Etruscan revival bracelets – my two favorites are available at joden.com.  They shared marked similarities and yet each has its own individual personality.

First, we have this beauty.  Measuring approximately 3/8 of an inch wide, this 15 karat gold bangle is made to wear.

The top half features classic Etruscan granulation decor – fifteen quatrefoil shapes arch artfully across the wrist.  Two parallel milgrain borders complete the look.  It’s hinged, offering a securely snapping clasp as well as a safety chain.  The pattern is ornate and yet simple enough to wear every day.  It could easily become your signature piece, priced at $1,580.00.

And then we have this charmer.  It’s 7/8 of an inch of golden deliciousness.  A tiny ornate border highlights the outer edges and a singular delicate flower blooms on the exterior perimeter.

Much like the other bangle, this bracelet blend seamlessly into any wardrobe.  It pairs perfectly with everything from jeans to dresses, a go-to adornment for every occasion!  Priced at $3,150.00, it’s a signature piece that you will enjoy for a lifetime.

And so I ask you, which would you choose?  This narrow quatrefoil embellished bangle or that wide golden beauty with floral decor?  This or that?

Pick of the Week – Volume Eight

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

One short decade…  1901-1910.  The importance of the Edwardian Era far outreached those brief years.  With roots in the Victorian period and wings into what would become Art Deco, Edwardian jewelry was very influential.  Marked by a lacy and light appearance, the pieces from this time remain some of the most desirable antique gems.

A couple of months ago (when Pick of the Week was born) we shared a striking photo that had our followers going crazy for one particular ring…

This now iconic picture showcased three beauties that were destined to become features.  Two of them have come and gone with little fanfare – but one remains.  Many of you inquired about the ring in the lavender velvet box…  what size is that center diamond?  What metal is it made from?  And, of course, how much is it?

There was just one tiny glitch…  it wasn’t an old favorite, but rather a new arrival.  This photo was snapped the very day we got that infamous ring.  And so, it was against the grain of everything we wanted the Pick of the Week to be.  This new blog was created to shine a spotlight on hidden gems in the Joden inventory; draw attention to pieces that we’ve had on our site for a longer period of time.

Finally, the day you’ve been waiting for is here!  Made at the turn of the twentieth century from a classic combination of rosy yellow gold with a platinum top, this ring is absolutely divine.  A delicate picture-frame of fine wires showcases a sunburst of triangular diamond accents.  Each one is bead and bright cut set with a singular Old European Cut diamond.  Together, they point to that glorious center stone – a 1.06 carat Old Euro.  This gem dazzles from every angle and is the true star of the show.

Impeccable craftsmanship combines with unique style in spectacular fashion.  This ring slides over the knuckle and settles oh-so comfortably at the base of the finger. Classic low profile design and a bezel set center diamond single this beauty out as suitable for daily wear.  And although this ring is still a new arrival, we are giving it the Pick of the Week special pricing.  Originally on our site for $5,950 – we now have it available for just $4,950!

Don’t hesitate for one single second!  Go to our site and look, then come to Joden and touch.

On The Fringe

 Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Distinctive Adornment

Upon moving to the United States at just 16, Luna Felix immediately submerged herself in the culture of New York while simultaneously bringing her unique sense of style to the city.  Her fresh perspective on fashion and accessories garnered attention and had Luna presenting her own line at retail giants like Lord and Taylor, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales.

Now recognized all over the world for pushing the edge of design, every piece of Luna Felix jewelry is a true original.  A kaleidoscope of gemstones bring bold color to high karat gold and the Old World techniques that she is known for.  The unconventional aesthetic of Luna Felix jewelry is unmistakable and unmatched.

I have been inexplicably drawn to this pendant – the shape reminds me of all things celestial.  To me, it is a sunrise, a cloud and a rainbow all at the same time.  Handcrafted from 18 and 22 karat yellow gold, the framework features a half-circle pattern made with fine wire work in relief.  This labor intensive art adds depth and dimension.

The fringe-like skirt features a graduated series of eight boulder opal fingers.  Boulder opal is an exceptional form of the gemstone in which it grows and settles into the fissures of a host rock.  Most of these extraordinary gems are from Austailia, and found on brown ironstone.  An awe-inspiring array of bright and brilliant colors abound – every shade of blue and green with bold pops of red and orange.  The unusual setting style allows you to see the gemstone, the host rock and the seam where they have become one.

For hundreds of years, our society has been formed and stretched by those rare individuals who live on the fringe.  They don’t fit in to mainstream culture, but rather push boundaries and create new ideas in all aspects of life.  Luna Felix is one such pioneer in the jewelry world.  Her avant-garde treasures are highly collectible.  Make this beauty yours for just $2,750.00.
