An Unbeatable Team

Baubles, Bling and Turquoise Things

There’s no question, there is definitely a lot of anticipation involved when you gift a piece of jewelry.  It begins with the presentation.  At Joden, it starts with our signature matte black bag and our name embossed in glossy gold letters.  Squeals of excitement are often elicited when a Joden bag appears!  Multiple layers of golden striped tissue are protruding from the top with an exquisitely wrapped package nestled inside.

Victorians understood the importance of a great first impression.  Custom-fitted leather boxes were hand-crafted for each treasured piece.  Upon opening, the interiors were carefully lined with plush velvet and rich satin – hinting at the luxury ensconced within.  Original vintage boxes can fetch hundreds of dollars even with nothing inside.

Feast you eyes upon this beauty…  an absolutely delicious Mid-Victorian demi-parure.  This 20th century treat is comprised of a matching 18 karat yellow gold brooch and earrings.  Circular in shape and three-dimensional in style, these gems are rich with unique details.

A floral motif comes to life with an Etruscan beaded outline artfully detailing a multi-petaled blossom with a bold pavé turquoise center.  Seventy-nine bright blue stones are set edge to edge creating a unique style.  The earring itself is a miniature version of the brooch, dangling from the ear on an elegant wire.  In pristine condition, these sets are a rarity.  This one is available on our site for just $5000.00.

At Joden, we revel in the full experience…  not a single detail is missed.  Meet us on social media – our Instagram and Facebook pages showcase some of our finest offerings.  Then head on over to our stunning website, where you can browse and purchase fine pieces of antique, estate, and modern jewelry.  Next, you’ll want to come into our store for unmatched customer service and an inventory that is both award-winning and unrivaled.  Let’s start a relationship today.

Pick of the Week – Volume 16

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

The Pick of the Week is my favorite feature blog.  I adore the idea of making some of our most cherished items more affordable!  Who wouldn’t love that?  Without question, the diamond engagement rings have been the most popular pieces.

This week, we’re focusing on a different price point…  an authentic, mint- condition Victorian ring.  It’s a tiny treasure!  Made from 9 karat yellow gold, with 18 karat gold gilding, this ring is perfection.  I love the architectural outline… with gentle curves and bold edges.  Distinctly divided into segments, this antique three stone ring is beautiful from every angle.

One rose cut diamond is set within an eight-pointed star in the center.  It’s flanked by a pair of old cut rubies that are also star-set.  This style was quite popular during the Victorian era, adding a bit of flair to each little gem.  A pair of triangles are carefully etched into each side of the shank.

Three distinct hallmarks are stamped inside the shank of this English ring.  It’s a wonderful example of fine antique jewelry.  Previously priced at $850.00, this piece is available now for just $675.00!

Unmatched Brilliance

 Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and Dazzling Things

Originally dubbed as a “table cut,” this rectangular beauty is one of the oldest diamond shapes with roots dating back to the 1500’s.  Resembling a hall of mirrors, it gained a new name in the 1920’s.  Featuring 57 facets, the emerald cut diamond (as it is now known) is recognized as perhaps the most elegant and sophisticated of all the silhouettes.

While it can be challenging to improve upon near perfection, there have been rare instances throughout history.  In 1981, Christopher Slowinski introduced the world to Christopher Designs.  He is a master stone cutter and a visionary, he single-handedly revolutionized the emerald cut diamond.  Elaborating upon the existing profile, Slowinski added triangular shaped facets to the steps in the pavilion (lower half) of the stone taking it from fifty-seven to a whopping seventy-seven facets!  This expert design capitalizes on the scintillation and light dispersion, producing a continuous exchange of light – bouncing back and forth with mesmerizing results.  Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Original Crisscut Emerald Diamond.

We recently added this dazzler to our estate collection.  Made entirely from platinum, this ring is a true showstopper.  The center stone is a 1.51 carat Crisscut diamond.  This beauty is perfectly nestled between a series of twenty-four Crisscut tapered baguette diamonds that graduate in size with a combined weight of 1.49 carats.  Finally, the three-row look is completed with seventy-four round brilliant stones.  These diamonds outline both sides as well as the center and add an additional .70 carat of bling.  All told, the total gem weight of this modern marvel is 3.70 carats!  Wow!

An elegant engagement ring or a sophisticated anniversary band?  This ring is ideal for every occassion.  And it’s a real steal…  the primary advantage of estate jewelry is undoubtedly the price!  Make this authentic Crisscut Diamond ring yours for just $16,750.00.
