Joe’s Special Box – Volume 126

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

Memorial Day is a time-honored tradition in this country.  It’s a day to remember all those who died in military service to the United States.  Originally called “Decoration Day”, we celebrate by placing flags and flowers on gravestones and memorials.  Veterans march in parades in local communities.  In my family, we have many veterans, including my father and my father-in-law.  We know how blessed we are that our servicemen came home.  On Monday, we will recognize and revere those who did not.

Old Glory is a patriotic pennant of red, white and blue.  The red symbolizes hardiness and valor, the white is for purity and innocence and the blue signifies vigilance, perseverance and justice. This flag is recognized all over the world as a symbol of freedom.  This star-spangled banner has been there for every moment in the history of our nation…  from our deepest sorrows to our greatest triumphs.

This ring from the late 1800’s offers much of the same symbolism.  Made in classic three stone style, the design has one stone for the past, one for the present and one for the future.  The power of three is universal.  It’s the holy trinity…  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  In addition, sapphires are believed to represent truth, sincerity and faithfulness.  Rich blue in color, this old cut natural stone weighs approximately 1.60 carats.  It is flanked by a matched pair of Old Mine Cut diamonds.  These two stones have a combined weight of 1.25 carats.  The diamond is the chosen gem of commitment and strength.

What piece of jewelry could be more perfect for Memorial Day than this late Victorian ring?  Comprised of blue sapphire and white diamonds, this ring stands for truth and commitment… the very same promises made by our flag and guaranteed by those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Joe’s Special Box Luxury Edition – Volume Five

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling and  A Collector’s Things

Aged to perfection.  Those words have never been more true.  This Art Deco stunner is nearly one hundred years old and is every bit as good today as it was the day it was made.  The condition of the bracelet is mint – and unbelievable.  It appears as though it was never worn.  Surely that can’t be…  who could own a piece this beautiful and not wear it?

A one carat marquise diamond beckons from the center of the bracelet.  It’s set in a saucy fashion… east/west oriented.  A trio of leaf-shaped openings flank the stone.  This painstakingly perfect piercing is hand done and accented with tiny beaded edges.  This delicate detail work, called milgrain, is indicative of the period.  It can be found on nearly every edge of the bracelet.

Natural emerald trim adds a bright pop of color to the resplendent array of diamonds that cover the piece from end to end.  Two hundred and two diamonds totaling over 7.50 carats to be precise.  You might think that a bracelet with 8.50 carats of diamonds would be over the top…  too fancy to wear.  It isn’t.  Somehow it manages to strike the perfect balance that is both dazzling and delicate.

Priced at $22,500.00 – this glittering gem is the epitome of elegance.  It’s luxurious and lovely… too good to pass up.  For additional details, give us a call.  Ask about the 1920’s bracelet from Joe’s Special Box.  You’re only regret would be NOT calling.

Pick of the Week – Volume 40

Joden Girl

Baubles and Bling with Unbelievable Pricing

This week’s selection is a ring that checks all the boxes…

It’s a designer piece from Tacori – one of the most sought after modern bridal designers in the country.  They offer superb craftsmanship combined with everything from classic elegance to cutting edge style.  This ring is no exception…

Made from 18 karat white gold, this ring is breathtaking from every angle.  The split shank features two rows of bead and bright set diamonds nestled within milgrain borders.  Channel set between those two rows is a third line of diamonds, giving the ring a slightly wider appeal.

The signature Tacori crescent shape design shines on the outside edges of the ring.  Sixty fully faceted round brilliant diamonds are precision set in this Art Deco inspired piece.  This beautiful gem is an ideal setting for the diamond held at the top.  Four prongs hold a killer round center stone.

Graded by the Gemological Institute of America, this diamond is a treat for the eyes.  This gem is an F color…  dazzling white.  In the colorless range, this rare stone does not have a single hint of yellow.  The clarity grade is an SI1, meaning that it is eye clean.  Weighing exactly 1.06 carats, this diamond pops from the center of the Tacori ring.

I love that the ring itself is flat-sided, allowing it to be worm with any band easily.  Pair it with a diamond band or a plain band.  Wear it alone for a classically clean and simple look.  This ring has been featured on the Joden site and in our store for awhile, which is why we have selected it as a Pick of the Week.

Original Price – $13,600.00
