Joe’s Special Box – Volume 55

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

April Fools!  Have you had those words shouted at you today?  The crazy and fun tradition of playing practical jokes on family and friends has been around since the 16th century.  Some think it derives from the Vernal Equinox (the first day of Spring) where Mother Nature fools all of us with unpredictable weather.  We can certainly understand that, right?

The personage known as “the fool” has been around even longer, though.  It dates back to the Middle Ages and the Tudor Period.  Talented individuals often performed at festivals and estates several times a year.  There were singers and musicians, tumblers and jugglers, even story-tellers and comedians.  The more abilities you had, the more popular you would be.

Our colorful jester is not quite so old.  He was crafted in Italy by the “Uno A Erre” company, probably during the 1970’s.  His bright multicolored enamel suit is just as charming as his clever hat and pointed shoes.  He has struck a pose, with a cheeky demeanor.  The back side of this delightful character reveals three hallmarks, the “Uno A Erre” stamp, 18KT, and Italy.  Just like his ancient relatives, he is sure to brings smiles to the faces of all who meet him.  Available now for just $675.

The Little Blue Box

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and Estate Rings

The “Tiffany & Co.” name has been synonymous with premium quality jewelry for more than 180 years; 182 years to be exact.  That’s decades longer than other iconic brands like Cartier, Boucheron, and Van Cleef.  There is no question that receiving the exclusive blue box elicits happiness, even before the box is open.  Untying the white satin bow and cracking the lid open is a joyful moment that you just have to experience.  Whether you’re a lover of pristine new gems or perhaps you crave those vintage estate pieces, Tiffany & Co. is worth every penny.

This legendary brand has an uncanny ability to find new markets for their unique yet classic style.  Maintaining the elegant feel of each Tiffany jewel has been essential in appealing to audiences of all ages.  Like this stellar bypass ring, for example.  Crafted from a bright 18 karat yellow gold with a cool platinum channel, further enhanced with high white diamonds and electric blue sapphires, the superior quality of this ring will not be denied.  In addition to the intrinsic value of the rocks and metal that make this ring is the value added by it’s enduring style and long lasting wear-ability.

The market for fine, high-end jewelry remains strong.  Signed pieces from top designers continue to appreciate.  The level of craftsmanship and the exceptional materials used have produced stand-out jewelry that is far more desirable than any “run of the mill” item sold at the mall.

The sapphire and diamond bauble shown here is available at Joden for just $2800.00.  This ring is as durable as it is beautiful.  Wear it every single day; whether it be on your ring finger, or if you change it up by sporting it on an index or middle finger.  Just wear it.  As always…

Joe’s Special Box – Volume 54

Joden Girl

Baubles, Bling, and A Collector’s Things

There is no question that some of the most sought after pieces at Joden are rock crystal creations.  Whether they be bracelets, pendants, or even earrings – our customers go crazy for this classic Art Deco style.  This pendant is sure to prove my point.  A cushion-shaped piece of frosted calcite rock crystal had been carved with a starburst pattern and artfully set in the center with a vertical line of five round diamonds.  This beauty is further enhanced with a alternating framework of glossy black enamel and diamond set sections.

The outer edge has been hand carved with an intricate scalloped pattern.  It is suspended from a simple bail constructed from a single marquise shaped diamond.   It is effortless elegance at its finest.  The moment this piece arrived at  Joden, Joe scooped is up and whisked it away to his Special Box.  Moderately priced at $1,750.00 – this is one gem that won’t last long.
